dental studentWelcome to another episode of The Dentalpreneur Podcast. Joining us today is Aaron Stroh.

Aaron is a is a 4th year dental student at University of Nebraska Medical Center. He recently just finished the written portion of his part 2 board exams. Aaron is from Prescott, Arizona and is home for the holidays. As it happens he is also a good friend with a recent graduate at my dental assisting school in Chino Valley, which is how we connected. After spending the day with me at my practice, Aaron was kind enough to sit down with me and discuss his student experience as it relates to preparing him to not only be a dentist but also a enter into the business world.

Aaron and I discuss the current level of debt the average dental student graduates with. He also shares the most common employment opportunities that are available upon graduation. Aaron and I speak in depth on the business training he has been exposed to during his time in dental school and if he feels adequately prepared with those resources for the business side of dentistry.

All of that and more on today’s episode of The Dentalpreneur.

In this episode you’ll hear:

  • How much debt the current day dental student accumulates while in school
  • Why options such as the military or corporate dentistry might seem more practical after graduation
  • What is currently being taught in Practice Management classes
  • Why students are beginning to be pro-active in researching business on their own by reading more and listening to podcasts
  • How students should prepare to negotiate for their first job out of school
